Thanks to my experience in the tourist trade I would like to introduce an unforgettable itinerary considering our town, artistic treasures and natural beauties. In the morning we visit Mantua, a favourite tourist destination for its human dimension. In the afternoon, we reach Grazie di Curtatone, a little fishing hamlet, and will take part in a river excursion in the heart of the Mincio Park, a unique lake district, ending with the discovery of the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Graces. You may choose your itinerary and adapt it to your interest once you arrive in Mantua. The Ducal Palace and the Basilica of St. Andrea, are the most important buildings, but there is much more to consider in the medieval heart of the city like the Palazzo D'Arco, with its painting gallery, musical instruments, books, collections, furniture and furnishings. Unique is the baroque Theatre "Scientifico", where Mozart played as a 13 years old boy. In the afternoon we start a boat-excursion along the Mincio. Where the river widens there are a multitude of canals with an extraordinary natural environment, you will be surprised at the variety of the river birds, plants and flowers. The highlight of the trip in this Natural Reserve in the warm summer months is the natural flowering of the oriental lotus, unique here in Europe, which creates huge islands on the Lake Superiore right to the city's edge. The day ends with a visit to the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Graces, erected in 1400, rich in religious artefacts - ex voto made of wax. Of aesthetic merit and humble folk origin you will view a series of large natural looking statues, made of papier maché and other materials that testify to the miraculous virtues of the Madonna. You will pleasantly end the day wanting to return to it and happy to recommend it to family and friends.
